Ayushmann Khurrana kickstarted shooting for his forthcoming film An Action Hero in London on Friday. The film is backed by Bhushan Kumar of T-Series, Krishan Kumar, and filmmaker Aanand L Rai's Colour Yellow Productions.

An Action Hero marks the directorial debut of Anirudh Iyer, who earlier assisted director Aanand L Rai in Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015) and Zero (2018). Anirudh Iyer has also co-written the film with Neeraj Yadav. An Action Hero is touted to be an actioner with an offbeat satirical sense of humour. Aanand L Rai had announced the film in October last year. The filmmaker described the film as an out-of-the-box entertainer.
